Why are they not releasing names now? Protecting the identity of meth dealers?!

Defendants are only named publicly after charges are actually laid. That hasn't happened yet. In New Brunswick, every charge has to be approved by a prosecutor before a police force lays the information in court.

The notion that people are trying to shield possible drug dealers from public scrutiny is an untenable leap in logic. Furthermore, until a guilty plea is entered or a guilty finding is made after trial, the defendants would be suspects, not dealers. Everyone retains a presumption of innocence until guilt is proven beyond a reasonable doubt. It's a vital principle designed to protect us all.
