Cocaine, meth seized in June bust - cops
Fredericton Police Force reports drugs seized after vehicle stop earlier this month; pair arrested and released on promises to appear in court in August
Fredericton police officers seized quantities of cocaine and methamphetamine as a result of a vehicle stop earlier this month, as well as a weapon and cash, the city police force reports.
In a news release issued Tuesday, the Fredericton Police Force advised that members of its drug/street crime and integrated enforcement units arrested a 48-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman June 16.
“After a vehicle stop on Fredericton’s north side, the pair were arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking, proceeds of crime and possession of a prohibited weapon,” the release said.
“Upon arrest officers located and seized a quantity of methamphetamine and cocaine, drug paraphernalia, Canadian currency, and a prohibited weapon in the vehicle.”
It said $1,530 in Canadian cash was found and is believed to be the proceeds of crime.
The pair was released on conditions and were directed to appear in Fredericton provincial court Aug. 25.
The release said it’s expected they’ll face charges of possession of cocaine and meth for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime and possession of a prohibited weapon (a set of brass knuckles).

Why are they not releasing names now? Protecting the identity of meth dealers?!
