Young stolen-vehicle suspect denied bail
One teenage defendant remanded until case wraps, another asks for hearing to be delayed
One of two 16-year-old boys arrested last week after a string of vehicle thefts in the Fredericton area has been denied bail, while the other asked for more time to develop a release plan.
The two underage defendants were scheduled to go through bail hearings Monday on a variety of charges, alleging possession of stolen vehicles, weapons offences and offences against police officers.
The teenagers can’t be named as their identities are protected under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
