I really appreciate your writing (can’t say I followed the Gleaner much before). Your stories are explained more logically now that you do your own editing and don’t have such strict word count limits. I’m no longer left full of questions afterwards!
Thanks for the kind words. In defence of the sort of reporting you might otherwise see in print newspapers, studies have shown readers don't typically read more than the first three paragraphs of a news article (why is why the most important details are typically put at the top of a story).
This online venue affords me the opportunity to experiment and elaborate. My sense of the approach thus far is that people appreciate it and are receptive to it, but time will tell if that's the sort of detail people want in their local news.
