Sadly, our province has never had a government that will stand up to industry...even when those industries are a risk to our population. Cynically, I believe the reason for that is that if they stand up to one industry, they will have to stand up to the largest in our province...Higgs former employer. Next year’s election probably won’t change that unfortunately.

I want to thank all the firefighter's working on the fire as Higgs only thanks the Irving's and the likes :( -- Mad love to all the FIREFIGHTER'S !!! The company's own Higgs-- We can see -- Never will I ever vote for the conservative again -- Bye Higgs

In fairness, the premier thanked the firefighters and others. And I don't know other corporate citizens have played important roles in the situation. My point was now wasn't the time to single them out, as it demonstrated a lack of self-awareness for how he's perceived -- or a deliberate disregard for it.

A quick google search of the President & CEO of American Iron & Metal Company Inc, Herbert Black, will show you just the kind of billionaire businessman we’re dealing with here. The one who said ‘shit happens’ when being interviewed regarding the loss of two lives at the facility in question.
