Assuming someone committed previous crimes for which they weren't caught or charged runs completely contrary to the principles of the criminal-justice system. Innocent until proven guilty is vital, but it should go without saying that someone's innocent of charges that don't exist.

He was addicted to meth long before his dog passed away, or his relationship ended. Those are just excuses so people feel sorry for him.

I know it is. I was the one in a relationship with him for 8.5 years. The whole reason I left him was because he was on meth.
