Youth murder suspect opts for King’s Bench trial
17-year-old Nasonworth boy seeks to be tried by judge alone, without jury for May 13 death
A Nasonworth teenager will stand trial on a murder charge in superior court before a judge but without a jury.
A 17-year-old boy - whose identity is protected by the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act - appeared by telephone from the province’s youth jail in Miramichi on Wednesday to elect mode of trial.

He faces a charge of second-degree murder in the May 13 death of a 34-year-old man in Nasonworth.
