A teenage boy arrested Thursday night and accused of fleeing from police in a stolen car was supposed to be on remand in the province’s youth jail - for earlier stolen-vehicle offences.
The Fredericton Police Force issued a news release Friday afternoon about an incident Thursday night involving a stolen car and the arrest of three suspects.
“On Sept. 5, 2024, the Fredericton Police issued an advisory requesting the public’s assistance in locating a stolen vehicle, a 2024 Nissan Kicks, after it had fled from police,” the release said.

“Later that day, members of the force’s integrated enforcement unit, with support from patrols, successfully recovered the stolen vehicle and arrested three individuals involved in the theft.”
One of those suspects was a 16-year-old boy from Geary, whose identity is protected as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
