Lance Thomas Sappier was 20 minutes late for a Tuesday court hearing he’d requested and hadn’t filed the necessary documents as directed.

And the proceeding didn’t get much better for him from there.

Sappier, 29, of Saunders Street in Fredericton, faces indictable charges of communicating online with a minor for the purpose of committing a sex offence, inviting that underage person to touch themselves for a sexual purpose with a hairbrush, and exposing his genitals to that complainant.

The charges allege events in Fredericton between Dec. 27, 2015, and Dec. 26, 2018.
