The province’s occupational health and safety watchdog agency isn’t delving into a sudden-death at an industrial business in Fredericton as the incident wasn’t work-related, it said.

The Fredericton Police Force was dispatched to the premises of York Steel Inc. in the Vanier Industrial Park on Wednesday morning after receiving a report of a sudden death.

A police spokesperson said Wednesday the death wasn’t deemed to be suspicious.

The Fredericton Independent inquired this week with WorkSafe New Brunswick, the provincial agency tasked with investigating injuries and deaths, if it was looking at the incident given where it occurred.
