Missing Woodstock First Nation girl found safe
RCMP had turned to public Monday for information on 15-year-old's whereabouts
A 15-year-old Woodstock First Nation girl who’d been reported as missing Monday for the second time in a week has been located, reports the Western Valley region detachment of RCMP.
The detachment issued a news release Monday indicating the teenage girl hadn’t been seen since Saturday night, and officers were hoping members of the public might have information that could lead to her being found.
But in a followup release Tuesday afternoon, the Mounties said she’d been found.
“The 15-year-old girl from Woodstock First Nation, who was reported missing to police on March 4, 2024, has been located safe,” it said.
It marked the second time in a week that the RCMP have issued an missing-person advisory about the same girl.
She had also gone missing Feb. 28, the force announced Friday, but within hours of that alert, police reported she’d been found.
