Editor’s note: An earlier version of this story mistakenly stated Beth Wallace was hospitalized for a few days, when she was treated and released from hospital the same day. We regret the error.

A woman who survived an attempt on her life 11 years ago is now recovering from new injuries, the result of her car being struck from behind by a suspected impaired driver.

The Fredericton Police Force confirmed officers responded to a collision on the Princess Margaret Bridge the night of July 31.

The force reported on Facebook that night that the bridge was closed for a couple of hours due to the incident.

Police spokesperson Sonya Gilks said a female driver was rear-ended by a male driver, who was arrested at the scene and released on conditions, as well as a promise to appear in court Oct. 8.
