Westmorland bridge ramp closed Thursday
Transportation and Infrastructure advises of construction on north side access to span
Motorists headed from the north side of Fredericton to the downtown core will encounter some traffic issues as the province is doing construction work on a Westmorland Street Bridge ramp.
The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure advised through the province’s online 511 tool map that there will be construction work being carried out Thursday on the bridge ramp from Main Street to Devonshire Drive, leading southward to the bridge.
The work is slated to start at 11:30 a.m. and continue until 4:30 p.m.

All lanes on the northside bridge access will be closed during that period, it said.
“Reduced speed required,” the advisory states. “Watch for equipment and persons working.”
It said motorists should use alternate routes.
The New Brunswick 511 website also notes there’s work slated for all next week on a southside ramp from the bridge.
Repair work is scheduled from April 22 to 26 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day on the ramp leading from the Westmorland Street Bridge to Regent Street.
