A criminal case involving nine members of the Welamukotuk (Oromocto) First Nation - including its chief - crawled forward Tuesday with defence counsel for all but one of them getting on the record.

The RCMP laid a joint information last month against nine residents of the Welamukotuk First Nation, alleging various individuals broke into a Wolastoq Court home on the reserve and assaulted Anthony O’Blenis and Sonya Atwin on April 29.
