The chief of Welamukotuk (Oromocto) First Nation, along with members of her family, is set to appear in provincial court next week to answer to allegations of committing a violent home invasion.

The RCMP laid a joint criminal information in Fredericton provincial court against nine people - including Welamukotuk Chief Shelley Marie Sabattis, 56, of Wel-a-Mook-Took Street in Oromocto - and they’re scheduled to make their first appearances on the charges Sept. 11.
