Weekend jail for sex-offender order breaches
Jeremy Gerald Delaney, 34, of Rusagonis, had sought community-based sentence
A Rusagonis man who violated a sex-offender registration order three times before was sentenced to weekend jail time Tuesday for another two breaches of the same order.
Jeremy Gerald Delaney, 34, of Moore Road, pleaded guilty in June to a May 1, 2022, charge of breaching a Sex Offender Information Registration Act (SOIRA) order to report in person to his local registration centre, and he was back in Fredericton provincial court for sentencing Tuesday.
But before the sentencing hearing got underway, he addressed another count: that he violated the same SOIRA order on Oct. 5, 2022. He pleaded guilty Tuesday to that offence as well.
