A Waasis man accused of breaking into a property he claims he owns and of shoplifting is headed to trial after ranting in court Monday about a massive conspiracy against him in the capital region.

Carl Robert Ellis, 56, of Cass Drive, appeared in Fredericton provincial court Monday to answer to charges alleging he stole merchandise from Scholten’s on Riverside Drive, assaulted Fredericton police Const. Corey Ouellette and resisted arrest Feb. 14, and that he broke into Ellis Electric on Rowan Street on April 29.
