Volleyball coach’s lawsuit headed to trial
Court will hear evidence in Richard Schick’s wrongful-dismissal case against UNB in April
A volleyball coach who was fired from his position with the University of New Brunswick women’s team will get his day in court next spring.
Richard Schick had been the coach of UNB’s women’s volleyball team from May 2021 until the university fired him Oct. 31, and he filed a notice of action and statement of claim against UNB in December with the Court of King’s Bench in Fredericton.
He’s contending his dismissal was wrongful and is seeking unspecified damages.
None of the allegations in his lawsuit, in UNB’s statement of defence and in Schick’s reply has been proven in court.
