Ultralight crash victim undergoes autopsy
Investigators' examination of wreckage complete - Transportation Safety Bureau of Canada
It’s too soon to know when findings about the fatal crash of a small aircraft outside Fredericton will be known, but officials report an autopsy has been done and examination of the wreckage is complete.
First responders were on the scene late Friday morning after an ultralight aircraft went down in a cornfield along Route 104 in Burtts Corner.
The lone occupant of the single-seater aircraft has since been identified on social media as retired Fredericton engineer Ray St-Laurent, 74.
A representative from the New Brunswick’s coroner’s office attended the crash site as well Friday, and the victim was declared deceased at the scene.
