Trucker fined for 2023 roundabout crash

An Ontario trucker told police that he went the wrong way through a Fredericton roundabout two years ago and crashed into a business because the vehicle in front of him had slowed down for no reason.
Harpreet Kumar, 29, of Brampton, Ont., appeared in Fredericton provincial court by video conference from Ontario on Monday for sentencing for an infraction under the New Brunswick Motor Vehicle Act.
He’d originally been charged with a criminal count of dangerous driving but pleaded guilty on the day of his scheduled trial earlier this year to the provincial charge of driving without due care and attention.
