Troubled offender gets three years
Sentencing for Brett Edward Francis, 43, delayed due to issues with victim services
A masked Bilijk (Kingsclear) First Nation who was recognized when he tried to rob a gaming lounge because it was staffed by people he knew personally earned a three-year prison sentence last week.
Brett Edward Francis, 43, of no fixed address, appeared in Fredericton provincial court by video conference from the Saint John Regional Correctional Centre on Friday for a sentencing hearing.
He’d previously pleaded guilty to a number of offences, the most serious of which were robbing the Bilijk First Nation’s Wulastukw Casino and Lounge, masking his face while doing so and breaching his probation, all on March 24.
