A man from the Grand Lake area accused of sexually abusing his daughter will stand trial in superior court more than a year from now.

A 54-year-old man appeared in the Court of King’s Bench at the Burton Courthouse on Monday, accompanied by defence lawyer Edward Derrah.

The defendant faces indictable counts alleging he touched his daughter for a sexual purpose when she was under the age of 16, invited her to touch him for a sexual purpose, touched her while in a position of trust or authority over her, sexually assaulted her and that committed incest, meaning he had intercourse with the complainant knowing she was his blood relation.
