Perth-Andover robbery prompts plea for tips
RCMP says masked male held up Tribe Road business at knifepoint in community Tuesday
An investigation into an early-morning robbery at a Perth-Andover business Tuesday has prompted the Mounties to turn to the public for any dashcam footage of a suspect vehicle in the case.
The Perth-Andover detachment of the RCMP issued a news release Wednesday afternoon about an armed robbery in that community Tuesday morning. It said officers were dispatched to a Tribe Road business at about 6:05 a.m. Tuesday after receiving a report on the robbery.
“An individual wearing a face mask entered the store and demanded the cash box from the cashier while brandishing a knife. He then jumped over the counter, retrieved the box and fled on foot,” the release said.
“The individual was then seen running towards Highway 2 where he got into the passenger side of a silver SUV that was parked in the eastbound lane. The vehicle was last seen travelling east towards Woodstock.”
Police are urging anyone who may have been travelling in the area between 5 and 6 a.m. Tuesday, who saw the parked SUV, who might have dashcam footage or who otherwise might have relevant information that could aid the ongoing investigation to call the Perth-Andover detachment at 506-273-5000.
