Time served imposed for ATV/axe incident
Jason Phillip Cote, 45, of Geary, said he was scared when he tried to flee from Mounties on ATV this summer and didn’t realize he needed to have licence to operate off-road vehicle
Upon hearing that the Crown was seeking time already served for fleeing from police and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, a Geary man rejoiced over his impending release.
Jason Phillip Cote, 45, of Broad Road, appeared in Fredericton provincial court by video conference from the Southeast Regional Correctional Centre in Shediac for a sentencing hearing.
He previously pleaded guilty to July 8 charges of fleeing from police, possessing a weapon (an axe) for a purpose dangerous to the public peace, resisting arrest and driving while suspended.
