A young Fredericton-area man whom police described as possibly armed and dangerous has been remanded on charges of assaulting another man with a knife on the weekend.

Gage Nason DeGrace-Whitlock, 18, appeared in Fredericton provincial court Tuesday afternoon by telephone from the Fredericton police station cellblock.

He was charged with indictable counts of assaulting Monte Dickeson with a knife, assaulting him and thereby causing him bodily harm, possessing a knife with the intent of committing an indictable offence, and breaching a court order prohibiting him from possessing weapons.

All charges allege events in Fredericton on Saturday.
