Tannery manslaughter prelim postponed
Crown, defence request adjournment for additional disclosure ahead of preliminary inquiry for Tyler Totten, 19, of Lower Truro, N.S., on allegation of causing man’s death in September
A preliminary inquiry for a young Nova Scotia man accused of manslaughter in a man’s death in Fredericton last fall was delayed Friday due to disclosure issues.
The Fredericton Police Force charged Tyler Totten, 19, of Lower Truro, N.S.,with manslaughter in the September death of André Bourgeois, stemming from an alleged assault in the Tannery, a courtyard area in Fredericton’s downtown bar district.
The police force alleges that Totten, who was 18 at the time, and three youths, who were under the age of 18, assaulted Bourgeois, 41, of Grande Digue, on Sept. 22 in the Tannery, a courtyard in Fredericton’s downtown bar district.
Bourgeois died a few days later.
