Suspected hostage-taker seeks bail hearing
Bradley Douglas Webb, 36, remanded after Nov. 19 standoff on Fredericton’s north side
The man at the centre of a standoff in Fredericton last month told a judge this week he wants to be released on conditions, even as he faced new, unrelated charges dating back to the start of the year.
Bradley Douglas Webb, 36, of no fixed address, was brought to Fredericton provincial court in custody and in person Wednesday, scheduled to elect mode of trial on charges stemming from an incident on Fredericton’s north side the morning of Nov. 19 that shut down a northside neighbourhood for several hours.
He’s accused of assaulting Kimberley Murray and Tonya Francis with a weapon (a BB gun) that morning, pointing a firearm at Francis, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm to Thomas and Francis, and unlawfully confining them.
