Suspect blames court no-show on dyslexia
Danielle Jean Kerr, 36, of no fixed address, accused of uttering bogus bills at businesses
A woman accused of counterfeit-currency charges told a judge Tuesday she had an excuse for missing a court date: her dyslexia.
Danielle Jean Kerr, 36, of no fixed address, was supposed to be in Fredericton provincial court May 3 to elect mode of trial and enter pleas to charges alleging she passed bogus bills at Fredericton businesses earlier this year.
When she failed to appear as required, a judge issued a warrant for her arrest.
That led to her appearance in court Tuesday by telephone from the Fredericton police station cellblock.
