Mitchell Charlie Schriver, 27, of Campbell Settlement Road in Hartfield - about 70 kilometres west of Fredericton, near Nackawic - pleaded guilty in Fredericton provincial court Wednesday to a charge under the NB SPCA Act of neglecting dogs and cats in his care Oct. 17.

Crown prosecutor Rodney Jordan said an animal-protection officer with the organization received a call Oct. 12 from Schriver, who reported he had three dogs and seven cats he wanted to surrender.
