Student-assault case set over for disclosure
Suzanne Ross, 33, of Rusagonis, is set to return to provincial court in several weeks for plea
Counsel for a Rusagonis woman accused of assaulting a seven-year-old boy while teaching at a Fredericton school last fall sought an adjournment in the case to obtain and review disclosure.
Suzanne Ross, 33, of Jake Street, made her initial appearance in Fredericton provincial court Thursday to face a summary charge of assault.
The charge alleges an offence against a minor in the capital on Sept. 19.
Ross appeared in person in court for the proceeding, and lawyer Jeremy LeBlanc, appearing on the phone as an agent for defence counsel Mikael Bernard, spoke for her.
Ross chose for her proceedings to be held in French, and all submissions and comments made during Thursday’s proceeding were conducted in French.
