A Fredericton man who spent months in custody after a standoff at a northside apartment building last fall, only to be released pending sentencing last month, was a no-show for court Tuesday.

William Bruce Joncas, 47, formerly of Irvine Street, was scheduled for sentencing in Fredericton provincial court Tuesday on charges of uttering threats and possessing a weapon.

Joncas was arrested after a tense situation with a major police presence at 711 Irvine St. the afternoon of Oct. 15.

The Fredericton Police Force reported last fall that numerous officers were dispatched to that location after receiving reports of a man making threats and brandishing a weapon.
