Southwestern N.B. to get drenched
Rainfall warning issued for some areas of province, with as much as 50 mm in forecast
Southwestern areas of New Brunswick - including the capital region - are under a rainfall warning issued by the federal weather service, which is calling for heavy precipitation Sunday into Monday.

Environment and Climate Change Canada’s weather service issued a rainfall warning Saturday evening for Fredericton and southern York County, Grand Lake and Queens County, Oromocto and Sunbury County, Grand Manan and coastal Charlotte County, Saint John and County, St. Stephen and northern Charlotte County, Sussex, Kennebecasis Valley and Kings County.
It says to expect 25 to 50 millimetres of rain in the area, with even more possible for some locations.
The rain is expected to fall Sunday and to continue until Monday morning, the advisory said.
“Similar storms in the past have caused hazardous driving conditions from water pooling on roadways, elevated water levels in creeks and streams [and] localized flooding, especially in poor drainage areas,” the warning stated.
