Southampton man accused of incest
Defendant serving two-year conditional sentence for sexually abusing granddaughter years ago now faces new allegations involving another granddaughter from between 2006-2010
An elderly Southampton man still serving a community-based sentence for sexually abusing his granddaughter is facing new charges alleging sexual offences against another granddaughter.
A 76-year-old man from Southampton appeared in Fredericton provincial court Tuesday to answer to recently filed charges alleging he touched a minor for a sexual purpose and sexually assaulted that child at Southampton between Feb. 1, 2018, and Jan. 31, 2020.
However, police filed additional charges against him.
Those counts accuse the man of sexually assaulting his granddaughter, touching her for a sexual purpose, inviting her to touch him sexually and committing incest by having intercourse with the underage girl, all between Nov. 1, 2006, and Sept. 15, 2010, at Southampton.
