Shotgun-discharge suspect remanded
Darren Lee Watson, 40, of Fredericton, accused of breaching release conditions four times
A Fredericton man awaiting trial on charges stemming from an alleged discharge of a sawed-off shotgun last summer has been denied bail after being accused of violating release conditions.
Darren Lee Watson, 40, formerly of Haneytown but more recently of Queen Street in Fredericton, appeared in Fredericton provincial court by video link from the Saint John Regional Correctional Centre on Thursday for a bail hearing.
He’d previously been released on conditions on June 29 charges of intentionally discharging a firearm on MacDonald Avenue on the Welamukotuk (Oromocto) First Nation while being reckless with regard to someone’s safety; possessing a sawed-off shotgun for a purpose dangerous to the public peace; breaching a court order prohibiting him from possessing firearms; and possessing the firearm without authorization.
