Shooting suspect released (but not really)
Austin Fox, 21, remains on remand in provincial jail on unrelated charges out of Saint John
A man accused of shooting someone in the capital region this fall was granted a conditional release Monday, but he remains in custody on other alleged offences out of another jurisdiction.
Austin Fox, 21, of no fixed address, appeared in Fredericton provincial court remotely from the Saint John Regional Correctional Centre on Monday, scheduled to go through a bail hearing.
He faces RCMP charges alleging he discharged a Magnum revolver with intent to wound, maim or endanger the life of Lucas Bubar; committed an aggravated assault on Bubar; possessed the Magnum for a purpose dangerous to the public peace; possessed a restricted weapon; and possessed the revolver knowing he didn’t have a licence.
