Sheffield shooting trial delayed by one year
New defence counsel for Brandon Drew Hatchard, 37, of Perth-Andover, seeks adjournment
A Perth-Andover man’s trial on charges alleging he fired a shotgun at another man in Sheffield three years ago has been postponed by another year at the defence’s request.
Brandon Drew Hatchard, 37, of Riverview Street in Perth-Andover, previously elected to be tried in provincial court and pleaded not guilty to counts of discharge of a pump-action shotgun at Colton Livingston with intent to harm him, possession of the shotgun for a purpose dangerous to the public peace; possession without a licence and knowing he didn’t have a licence for it; and breach of a court-ordered firearms prohibition.
The charges stem from an alleged incident in Sheffield, east of Fredericton, on Nov. 6, 2022.
