Sex offender released on Crown consent

A homeless man accused of failing to check in with the sex-offender registry last year and who missed court appearances to answer to the charge was released on conditions Thursday.

Richard Todd Mann, 39, of no fixed address, appeared in Fredericton provincial court by video conference from the Saint John Regional Correctional Centre on Thursday morning, scheduled to go through a bail hearing.
He faces a charge of breaching a court order under the Sex Offender Information Registration Act, issued in January 2023, by failing to check in with the registry centre for his annual appointment last year by May 17, 2024.
