Sex offender forgoes bail hearing
Brandon Lee Cote, 30, of Oromocto, faces charges alleging he violated court order to have no unsupervised contact with minors stemming from 2018 convictions for child porn
After postponing his bail hearing repeatedly in recent weeks, a convicted sex offender accused of new crimes opted Monday to forgo his right to bail for the time being.
Brandon Lee Cote, 30, of Finnamore Street in Oromocto, is charged with two counts of breaching a court order prohibiting him from having unsupervised contact with children under the age of 16, alleged to have occurred between Sept. 1 and Jan. 29, and again Jan. 6, in Oromocto in both instances.
There’s a court-ordered publication ban in effect protecting the identities of any children with whom Cote allegedly had contact.
The defendant is also accused of prowling at night on the property of an Oromocto home as well between Oct. 1 and Nov. 30.
