Sex offender admits to contact with kids
Brandon Lee Cote, 30, pleads guilty to two violations, still going to trial on another count
A convicted sex offender scheduled to stand trial on allegations he violated a court order barring from contact with minors admitted to some of the allegations against him Tuesday.
Brandon Lee Cote, 30, of Finnamore Street in Oromocto, appeared in Fredericton provincial court in person and in custody Tuesday, scheduled for trial.
However, defence lawyer Edward Derrah said his client was changing his pleas to guilty on two of the indictable charges against him.
Cote admitted Tuesday to two counts of breaching a lifetime court order prohibiting him from having unsupervised contact with children under the age of 16 - one between Sept. 1 and Jan. 29 in Fredericton, and another on Jan. 6 in Oromocto.
