Sex-crime suspect seeks legal aid
Brian Porter, 70, of Nauwigewauk, accused of offences in Keswick Ridge involving minor
An elderly suspect from the port-city region doesn’t have legal counsel yet, court heard last week, and he’ll be back before a judge later in April to answer to alleged sexual offences involving a minor.
Brian Porter, 70, of Bonney Road in Nauwigewauk, about 25 kilometres northeast of Saint John, appeared in Fredericton provincial court March 27.
He was scheduled to elect mode of trial and enter pleas on two indictable charges: inviting or counselling a minor to touch him sexually and exposing his genitals to that same underage complainant.
