A judge cancelled a Noonan man’s trial - set to begin later this week - on charges of sexual assault and touching of minors after hearing Tuesday that he and his defence counsel had a falling out.

Donald Ashley MacPherson, 65, of Hughes Street in Noonan but formerly of Canada Street in Fredericton, elected last year to be tried in provincial court and pleaded not guilty to two indictable counts each of sexual assault, sexual interference and sexual exploitation.
