Sex-crime allegations headed to prelim
Jesse Clayton Boudreau, 45, of Springfield, opts for trial in Court of King’s Bench without jury on allegations of sexually assaulting, touching minor for sexual purpose last summer
A Springfield man accused of sexually assaulting and touching a minor last summer chose Tuesday to have his case heard in superior court and for the allegations to be tested in a preliminary inquiry.
Jesse Clayton Boudreau, 45, of Route 615 in Springfield, about 35 kilometres west of Fredericton, appeared in Fredericton provincial court Tuesday with defence lawyer Edward Derrah.

He’s accused of indictable counts of sexually assaulting a minor and touching that same complainant for a sexual purpose while he was in a position of trust or authority over the child between June 14 and 24 at Scotch Lake, about 30 km west of Fredericton.
There’s a court-ordered publication ban in effect protecting the young complainant’s identity.
