Second teen denied bail in stolen-vehicle cases
Fredericton police report five youths arrested last week, two of whom have been remanded
A second teenage boy arrested last week after a string of vehicle thefts in Fredericton will remain behind bars until the cases against him are resolved.
The 16-year-old Geary boy - whose identity is protected by the Youth Criminal Justice Act - appeared in Fredericton youth court Thursday for a bail hearing.
He was charged by the Fredericton Police Force last week with mischief causing damage to a 2016 Chevrolet Trax on April 14, and resisting police, carrying a concealed weapon (a knife), possessing meth and breaching a youth sentence barring him from possessing alcohol and drugs, all on April 25.
The boy also faced earlier and similar charges laid by the RCMP, such as dangerous driving and possession of a stolen vehicle.
