Rusagonis woman dies in Saturday morning crash - RCMP
33-year-old driver was the lone occupant of a vehicle that went off Nevers Road, Mounties report
The Keswick detachment of the RCMP reports a woman is dead following a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning in Lincoln, a few kilometres east of Fredericton..
The RCMP issued an alert on social media shortly after 9 a.m. Saturday noting that officers were diverting traffic on Nevers Road in Lincoln, between Route 102 and Highway, due to what it described as a collision.
It followed up after 2 p.m. that the road was re-opened to traffic.
It was Sunday morning that the Mounties advised the incident was a fatal motor-vehicle accident.
“On March 25, 2023, at approximately 8:44 a.m., members of the Oromocto RCMP responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Nevers Road in Lincoln, N.B.,” the force said in a news release.
It said a 33-year-old Rusagonis woman, the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene. The RCMP didn’t name her.
“The crash is believed to have occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway,” the release said.
Oromocto Fire Department firefighters and paramedics were on the scene as well, it said, and an RCMP collision reconstructionist and a New Brunswick coroner's office representative are assisting with the ongoing investigation.
“An autopsy will be conducted to determine the woman's exact cause of death,” the release said.
