Rusagonis man dies in crash - RCMP
Single-vehicle accident occurred May 27 in New Market, just outside Fredericton, say police
A capital-region resident has died as a result of injuries sustained in an accident last week, the RCMP reports.
The Keswick detachment of the RCMP issued a news release Thursday morning about a single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a 34-year-old Rusagonis man in New Market, about 35 kilometres southwest of Fredericton.
“On May 27, 2024, shortly before 8 a.m., members of the Keswick RCMP detachment responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Highway 2, near New Market,” the release said.
“The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The crash is believed to have occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle, which then crashed and caught fire.”
In addition to RCMP officers, first responders with the Upper Kingsclear Fire Department and Ambulance New Brunswick attended the scene, as did an RCMP collision reconstructionist and a representative with the New Brunswick coroner's office, the release said.
