Rural manslaughter suspect released
Lucas D. LeClair, 31, of Keswick Ridge, subject to strict conditions, including ankle monitor
A Keswick Ridge man accused of causing the death of a Lower Hainesville resident this summer has been released from custody following a bail hearing.
Lucas D. LeClair, 31, of Tripp Settlement Road, appeared in Fredericton provincial court Thursday for a bail hearing after he was detained last week after the RCMP’s major crime unit charged him with a count of manslaughter.
The charge alleges he was responsible for the July 21 death of Josh Crouse, 39, in Lower Hainesville, about 50 kilometres northwest of Fredericton.
The evidence presented at Thursday’s hearing is subject to a court order prohibiting its publication or broadcast until the case against LeClair concludes.
