Redbank woman gets time served
Tanya Irene Wilson, 42, was previously deemed unfit to stand trial, improved after treatment
A Redbank woman who was previously deemed unfit to stand trial on assault and vehicle-theft charges but later pleaded guilty after being treated for mental illness was sentenced to eight months in jail Monday.
Tanya Irene Wilson, 42, of Parkhill Road in Redbank, near Chipman, was back in Fredericton provincial court in custody and in person Monday for a sentencing hearing.
She’d previously pleaded guilty to Aug. 7 and Sept. 10 counts of taking a truck belonging to Hugh Morton without permission; doing the same with a Chevy Malibu belonging to John Williams; defrauding Morton of cash Sept. 25; assaulting Katherine Murray and prowling at night on her property Oct. 11; assaulting Morton on Jan. 4; and resisting arrest Jan. 7.
All of the offences occurred in the Grand Lake region of New Brunswick, east of Fredericton.
