Two suspects forced their way into Pole Hill reJune 14, beat homeowner, say police
Officers are investigating a report of a violent home invasion in the Upper River Valley area earlier this month that sent one person to hospital, the RCMP reports.
The Western Valley Region detachment of the RCMP issued a news release Thursday afternoon about a reported incident in the early-morning hours of June 14 in Pole Hill, about 35 kilometres northeast of Woodstock.
“On June 14, 2025, at approximately 4 a.m., members of the Western Valley Region RCMP responded to a report of a home invasion at a residence on Route 575 in Pole Hill,” it said.
“Two individuals forcibly gained entry to the residence by breaking the door window. The homeowners were inside at the time of the incident. While in the residence, one homeowner was assaulted with a baseball bat.”
That victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries that were nevertheless serious, the release said.
“The two suspects, believed to be a man and a woman, left the residence in a vehicle prior to police arrival with a purse and an undisclosed amount of money,” it said.
Police are urging anyone with information about the case or who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area late June 13 or early June 14 to call the Western Valley Region detachment at 506-273-5000.
