RCMP renews pleas for tips on missing men
Brent Dawson, 30, of Gagetown, hasn’t been seen in two weeks, while Donald James (DJ) Pirie, 30, of Perth-Andover, disappeared one year ago after last being seen in Tilley area
RCMP detachments in New Brunswick renewed pleas for public assistance this week with regard to two men who have been reported as missing - one earlier this month and another a year ago.
The RCMP Oromocto detachment issued a news release earlier this month about Brent Dawson, 30, of Gagetown, who went missing in the community after last being seen at 1 a.m. Jan. 16.
The police advisory was issued the following day.
Mounties and members of the New Brunswick ground search and rescue team conducted a search for Dawson in the area of the village Jan. 19 as well.
The RCMP renewed its call for information Thursday - two weeks after Dawson went missing - noting that investigators are now looking to speak with people who had contact with Dawson before Jan. 16.
“Police would like to talk to anyone who met or spoke with him prior to his disappearance,” the updated release said.
The RCMP also released a clearer, updated photo of Dawson on Thursday as well.
Furthermore, the RCMP’s Perth-Andover detachment issued a renewed plea for information Thursday about Donald James Pirie, also known as DJ Pirie.
Pirie was reported as missing to police a year ago, it said.
The 30-year-old from Perth-Andover was last seen Jan. 30, 2024, in Tilley, about 18 kilometres north of Perth-Andover.
Anyone who may have seen Pirie since January 2024 or who otherwise has information that could assist in the effort to locate him is urged to call the Perth-Andover RCMP at 506-273-5000.
Those with information about Dawson or who saw him before his disappearance are asked to call the Oromocto detachment at 506-357-4300.
Those wishing to provide information anonymously about either Dawson or Pirie can do so through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by downloading the secure P3 Mobile App or by visiting Secure Web Tips online at www.crimenb.ca.
