RCMP probes Saturday shooting incident
Minto detachment seeks tips from public about shot fired on Route 10 in Chipman at 7 p.m.
The Minto detachment of the RCMP is investigating a report of a shot being fired in Chipman on Saturday evening, and it’s hoping members of the public can assist.
“On March 29, 2025, at approximately 7 p.m., a man called police to report that he was shot at while travelling on Highway 10 in Chipman,” the RCMP said in a news release Sunday.
“No one was injured during the event.”
As a result of the report, it said, officers are looking for a grey Ford or Chevrolet pickup truck, and they’re hoping if anyone saw or is aware of something that they’ll contact police.
"Any detail, no matter how small, could help further the investigation," Minto detachment spokesperson Cpl. Matt Traer said in the release.
"If you have any information regarding this incident, please come forward."
Officers view the incident as an isolated one, the release said, noting it didn’t meet the criteria for an Alert Ready emergency message.
Mounties remained in the area of the shooting Sunday as the investigation continues.
